Anti Wrinkle FAQ
-
Anti Wrinkle injections often referred to as (botox) contains a potent purified neurotoxin. When the anti wrinkle product is injected into a muscle, it blocks communication between the muscle and the nerves that connect to it. This prevents the muscle from receiving signals that trigger muscle movement. The muscle cannot contract, which in turn causes the overlying skin to relax. The appearance of wrinkles can be significantly reduced with this treatment, resulting in a smoother complexion and refreshed appearance.

Anti-wrinkle injections are made up of a natural protein and neurotoxin called Botulinum. Botulinum toxin type A injections are the most common non-invasive aesthetic procedure. Whilst they are commonly called “Botox”, there are actually four different FDA-approved neurotoxins.

There are no specific age requirements for when you should start to receive anti-wrinkle injections. It is recommended to begin anti-wrinkle injectable treatments as soon as you’re seeing early signs of wrinkles etching into the skin.
Essentially, if you’re unhappy with wrinkles, frown lines and other etched lines within your face, you should definitely consider if you’d like to start anti-wrinkle injection treatments before it’s too late to make a difference.
Our team of injectable nurses will talk you through each step of the entire procedure, ensuring that you’re comfortable.

The OHMYBROW team of injectable nurses suggest having anti-wrinkle injectable treatments regularly to ensure quality results are achieved. However, these treatments SHOULD NOT be too excessive or too sparse.
We recommend planning your treatments within regular intervals to keep up with maintenance and a younger, fresher look. Please note, you SHOULD NOT wait for the product to completely wear off within the targeted areas of your face before booking another procedure. It should be consistent.
The general timeframe we allow is at least 10-12 weeks apart which allows your body to absorb the injected ingredients and to formulate creating the results you desire.

During an anti-wrinkle injectable treatment, you may experience some slight discomfort by feeling a sting in some areas and also depending on your skin’s sensitivity.
The most sensitive areas to treat can include:
· The lower crow’s feet
· The outer part of the eyebrow
· The upper lip
However, there’s no need to panic as our injectable nurses will talk you through the entire procedure to ensure you’re comfortable at all times.

Bruising is uncommon after anti-wrinkle injections. Some individuals may experience small, light bruising after treatment; however, these bruises will disappear within 1-3 days following the treatment and can easily be covered with some concealer.
If you do experience bruising, you will usually find light pinprick bruising around the crow's feet area due to this area having a lot of small and medium-sized blood vessels.
At OHMYBROW, our injectable nurses are extremely careful and delicate when dealing with the skin through our anti-wrinkle procedures to reduce the risk of bruising. You can be confident in your choice by choosing us to take care of you and your skin.

Anti-wrinkle injections can potentially cause a tension headache to occur for a maximum of 24 hours following the procedure. You may experience discomfort with a headache when receiving injections in the frown line.
A headache may form due to the purpose of the injection relaxing the muscle, ensuring your appearance stays younger for longer. Your muscles within your face may naturally try to frown or move after receiving anti-wrinkle injections. This can cause a tension headache to form within a short period of time. Your skin is absorbing the natural, active ingredients and is working wonders to achieve the goals you’re wanting.
To avoid headaches, our injectable nurses recommend clients drink plenty of water following the procedure. Pain relief medication, without Ibuprofen which thins the blood, can be taken to ease tension.

Anti-wrinkle injections are not recommended during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding. We implement this as a precaution as there is very limited research currently available to determine that it is safe to receive anti-wrinkle injectable treatments during this period.
You will need to disclose if you are pregnant or breastfeeding prior to receiving this treatment to ensure our injectable nurses follow a strict protocol. Your treatment will subsequently result in being cancelled if you fail to consider this prior to booking an appointment. This is in the best interest of you, your body, and your baby.
